How many people do I need for this hunt?

We pride ourselves on being a low-volume duck hunting lodge in Argentina. We will only accommodate 4 hunters each week. We will take groups of all sizes, 1-4, but you will need 4 to have the lodge to yourselves

What is a Duck Hunt in Argentina Like?

All of the duck hunting in Argentina will be done on smaller ponds and flooded / sheetwater spots. This area of Argentina is historically rich with water year in and year out, making it one of the most consistent areas of Argentina to go duck hunting.

The hunting will be done with 2 people per blind to ensure sufficient shooting for all. Waders for this hunt will be necessary most days, as you are typically sitting in knee-to thigh-deep water within the marsh complex or pond. There are the odd places that you will shoot from shore, but there is no way to do that day in and day out!

From first light, you will be covered up in ducks as they transition around from their roosting areas to the ponds where they come to feed. Shooting in the morning will typically slow down about 9:30 or 10:00. At that time, if you have not already shot your allocated amount of shells, we will call the hunt and head back for an amazing brunch!

There will be a few hours in the midday to grab a nap or just unwind and hang out before heading back out for the afternoon hunt. The afternoons will be much like the morning hunt, but you will typically see a little less bird movement than you will have in the morning. Don’t get me wrong….You’re not going to want to skip the afternoon, as they still have very consistent high-volume shooting!

Intimate Duck Hunting Lodge in Argentina

There are only 4 bedrooms in this Argentinian duck lodge, making it a more intimate experience for you and your crew. Everything in the lodge is authentic, and your host, Poncho, will ensure you get the most out of your trip to Argentina!

SO WHAT ARE THE DUCK HUNTING LIMITS IN ARGENTINA?

We have a very liberal limit to offer our hunters. We offer our hunters the opportunity to shoot 5 boxes of shells in the morning and 3 boxes of shells in the afternoons. It is the norm for our hunters to have the opportunity to shoot all of their shells on each of the Argentina duck hunts. If you are looking for high-volume duck hunting….THIS is the place to do it.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY OF HUNTING DUCKS IN ARGENTINA?

A typical day will start with a wake-up call about 6:00 am. There will be a quick continental breakfast available before heading out to the blind about 6:30. Most of the drives are less than 30 minutes to the hunting location, with many of them only 10-15 minutes away. You will set up quickly, and then the fun begins!

Almost immediately, most mornings will be hot and heavy! You will either shoot until you are out of shells, or if it happens to be a slower morning, we will typically head back for a big brunch by 10 am. After brunch, you will have 4-5 hours of downtime depending on how quickly your morning hunts went. You can take a nap or just enjoy the day either on the patio or sitting around the fireplace inside!

You will then head back out for the afternoon between 3:00-4:00 depending on the weather and bird movement. You will again hunt until dark or until you have shot your allotted shells. After picking up decoys and taking some pictures of your harvest, we will head back to the lodge and sit around the fireplace and enjoy some appetizers, a glass of wine, or your beverage of choice! The end of the day will be capped with an amazing dinner and enough time to sit around and reminisce on the day's adventure!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DUCK HUNT IN ARGENTINA?

Nayarit Mexico has a liberal 30 ducks/day limit. You will be limited to either 30 ducks or 4 boxes of shells each morning on your duck hunt! It is the norm for hunters to have the opportunity to harvest this volume of ducks on a daily basis! When it comes to Duck hunting in Mexico…. we haven’t found a place that is more consistent than the River Lodge!

There are no limits on the white wing doves! The afternoons can be as, if not more, action packed than the morning duck hunt. A typical afternoon you can expect to shoot a case of shells, and even up to 2 cases on those exceptional afternoons!

Travel Information

  • This trip will require a passport!!

Your Travel to Argentina will be on your own. You will need to make your flights with the plan to fly into Buenos Aires EZE.

All of our packages run Monday-Saturday, so if you fly out of the US Sunday night, you will arrive in Argentina early Monday morning.

So, your options will be to fly out Sunday from the US and land Monday morning, and we will pick you up at EZE, or if you choose to fly into Buenos Aires early and are staying in a hotel, we will come pick you up at your hotel Monday morning, likely around 8:00-9:00 am, and head to the lodge.

My personal recommendation would be to fly in early just in case you have issues with your arrival flight! The last thing you want to do is make a trip like this and miss the first day! I would then plan to have us drop you off at the airport and fly out Saturday afternoon, unless you plan on touring Buenos Aires or continuing your hunting trip at other lodges throughout Argentina.

The lodge is about 4.5 hours from the airport.

If you have any questions on this, we will be happy to help to make this as seamless as possible!
